It’s been a great Bank Holiday Weekend with great weather and plenty of fish been caught!
We have ran a mixture of trips from 6hr wreck fishing to 3 hr taster trips and seen a fair few fish come aboard, with several species including Codlings up to 5lb , Pouting , Whiting , Flounders and Gurnards.
The 6hr trips have averaged around 30 fish per trip, with many undersized Codlings safely returned to fight another day.
The 3 hr trips have averaged around 15 fish per trip with a 5lb cod also caught on the 3 mile ground. The majority of the catch has been over the wrecks between 3 and 9 miles from shore with the water clearing out we are seeing more fish coming over the rails.
A few mackerel have also been caught over the last few days, so it shouldn’t be long now before were seeing large numbers coming aboard.
Flood and Slack tides have fished well, but the afternoons have been spoilt by South Easterly winds combining with the Ebb Tide pushing us across the ground too fast, making it impossible to hold the bottom.
Great to see some good fish starting to come aboard and nice to see the sun shining and more settled weather.
Please look out for our regular updates. Tight lines for now !!
