With the boat being fully booked over the weekend, on 6hr trips, we headed out North over the wrecks and ground.
From the minute the lines were dropped, we were into the Codlings!
With over 150 fish coming over the rails, many lines bringing up 2 at a time! Which is something we have not seen for a long time!
The cod fishing so far this year has been exceptional and fingers crossed we are in for a great summer of fishing!
We have also seen our first Mackerel of the year, with over 70 boated, bringing the amount of fish caught to over 200 fish in just one 6hr trip!
The best Cod landed was just shy of 7lb.
Every angler aboard was well over double figures with fish caught and this was by far our best trip of the season so far!
The majority of the fish were caught using baited Hokeyes, using unwashed Squid as bait.
Over 70 fish were returned, despite been of size, we only took home what the Anglers would eat.
We are fully booked for the coming weekend ahead and have a couple of trips midweek so fingers crossed for more of the same this week.
