Finally with a weekend of unsettled weather we can bring you a Whitby Fishing Trips update!
The fishing continues to to surprise us with fish into double figures, with Ling just over 10lb and a good stamp of Cod up to 6lb, but we did have a lovely Cod into double figures that weighed in at 10lb 5 oz.
We’ve had some big spring tides over the past couple of weeks, over 6 metres with drifts of over 2.5 knots, yet we still managed good numbers of fish over the rails.
This season has been the best season I can remember in a long time for Cod and it’s great signs that the North Sea stocks are recovering extremely well.
We will be fishing the autumn festival, which starts on September 15th, with a chance if winning £1000 for the heaviest fish, as well as daily prizes, so get booked on for a chance to win!
Also over the past week we have seen several Minke Whales, Porpoises and also had a 12ft Porebeagle Shark chase up a fish caught by the skipper Barry breach out the water and scare the life out of everybody!
What an amazing sight!
We still have various spaces available throughout the rest of the year and with our Uptiding season also just around the corner, which starts in October, we advise you to book on early to avoid disappointment.
We will bring you another update as soon as we have chance.
Tight lines for now!!
