Sorry It’s been a while since our last update.
The uptiding season is well underway now here at Whitby Fishing Trips and we have had a full diary to get through, but the weather has had other ideas limiting our days at sea.
We are at that time of year now where we lose more days to the weather than we manage to get out fishing!
However, on the days that we have managed to get out, boy have we been hitting the cod, with the average catch being around 50 to 60 codlings per trip!
We have had cod up to 12lb as well as a few around the 9lb to 10lb mark with the average stamp between 3lb and 6lb. We have also had a pollock weigh in just over 10lb and ling just under 10lb, all under anchor.
We have also had several Ballan Wrasse and Lesser Spotted Dogfish coming over the rails. We will continue to get to sea as much as we can weather permitting.
If you have not tried uptiding and would like to give this fantastic light tackle sport a go contact us for more info.
Tight lines for now.
