Hi all sorry it’s been a while since our last update but since the lock down restrictions were lifted we have been non stop with Trips. The summer holidays are also in full flow adding to the work load. We have been totally flat out running trips from 2hr eve trips on the mackerel as well as 3 hr taster trips to full day trips fishing the many wrecks and reefs off our coast.
The fishing has been superb with us having our biggest Chubb Mackerel ever on the boat weighing a whopping 2lb,4oz and measuring 53cm in length what a beauty. We have also had several double figures Cod upto 13lb 5oz making Sea Angler magazine. We’ve had several Ling to just shy of 13lb and some lovely Pollock to over 8lb.
Some of the wreck fishing this year has been superb with us taking over 300 fish on our best days fishing yet on the Alexia, with regular anglers Steve Kitson and his mate Glynn catching over 30 stone of fish between them in one trip only to repeat it the following week igniting their passion for fishing again, after several years of not fishing due to bad experiences with other boats out of Whitby.
The 3 hr taster trips have seen the usual mass loads of Mackerel as well as some lovely Cod and Pollock for the young beginners and their family’s fishing during the holiday period.
Some days we have run 4 trips a day to keep up with the demand it’s been that busy.
With the holiday season almost at an end we still have limited spaces available on all our trips and with the winter just around the corner and some superb light tackle sport to be had on the Cod fishing a stones throw from the shore under anchor you don’t want to miss out.
